Palm Pre Sprint Plans
Tuesday, 2 June 2009
One thing the Palm Pre currently has over the iPhone is that you can ring every single bell and/or whistle on the Pre including full GPS capabilities, unlimited texts, and unlimited data in an individual plan for as little as $69.99, and that is with 450 anytime minutes with night time free minutes starting at 7 pm. This is quite a big advantage Palm will have over Apple, whose iPhone plan with AT&T starts at $74.99 for less features, and around $90 for similar features (the main difference between the two AT&T options being 200 text messages a month versus unlimited, where Sprint’s $69 plan is unlimited texts).
Just so you wouldn’t have to go to both sites, here are some screenshots from Sprint’s and AT&T’s sites. With Sprint it’s easy to navigate to this price quote, but with AT&T I had to add an iPhone to my shopping cart just to see the price of the plan. That’s pretty lame. Not pictured here is Sprint’s everything plan which is $99. That would include unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data, everything. AT&T’s corresponding plan is $150 a month.
Sprint’s Site:

This screenshot of Sprint's site shows the cheapest plan that includes unlimited everything except for minutes starts at $69.99 a month.
AT&T’s Site

This is a screenshot of AT&T's shopping cart showing the cheapest possible way of getting an iPhone plan is $74.99 with limited texts (200)

This is really the key, both devices are great, but you save a ton with Sprint.

Did I miss understand this article, or did they not mention sprint’s simply everything plan. Unlimited Everything (no tethering) for $99 a month (before taxes)
I have this plan with my Instinct, and it’s my understanding that you can have it with the palm pre also. I’m looking into switching, because the Instinct is a entertainment phone at best, not a smartphone.

@Billy - you’re right, the $99 plan, perhaps their most popular, does exist, and is unlimited everything. This post was geared a little more to all you penny pinching saps like me who don’t have enough friends or family to use up the minute allotment.
